Treatment Overview

Dr. Smith does all the injections in our office. This is very different from many other medi-spas where there is no physician present and injections are done by nurses, physician assistants, or dentists. We feel that you would want to trust your face to a board-certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Smith selects a filler based on the treatment area, the patient’s goals, and product characteristics such as lift, spread, water attraction, and expected rate of breakdown. The exact product, amount, and injection pattern are tailored during consultation rather than using the same filler for every concern.

RHA products are hyaluronic acid fillers. If dissolution is medically appropriate, Dr. Smith can discuss whether hyaluronidase may be an option.

Temporary swelling and bruising can occur after treatment. The practice advises patients not to massage the treated area for at least five days and to follow any additional instructions Dr. Smith provides for the specific product and treatment area.

Results and recovery vary
  • How long results last depends on the selected RHA product, treatment area, amount injected, and the individual patient.
  • Most patients can return to usual activities, but Dr. Smith may recommend individualized limits based on the injection site and the patient’s response.
What should I do next to get more information about RHA® Fillers?
  • Schedule a private consultation with Dr. Smith by contacting the office or using the consultation request page.
  • Bring any specific goals, concerns, and prior treatment history so Dr. Smith can recommend the right path for you.
