External Ear Repair (Otoplasty)
Prominent ears often involve the lack of curling in the outer ear cartilage or prominence at the base of the ear cartilage. The goal is not to remake the ear, but to correct and reposition it so it no longer appears unnaturally protruding. This correction is generally done under general anesthesia in Dr. Smith's private surgery center. Repair may involve removing, repositioning, and suturing cartilage with permanent sutures buried deep within the ear tissues.
