Treatment Overview

Ultherapy uses the safe, time-tested energy of ultrasound to stimulate the deep structural support layers of the skin, including layers typically addressed in a surgical facelift, without disturbing the surface of the skin.

Results unfold gradually over 2-3 months as new collagen develops. Some patients report continued improvement for up to 6 months, including lifting and tightening on the neck, under the chin, along the jawline, and on the brow.

Ultherapy does not duplicate surgery, but it can be an inviting alternative for patients who want lifting and tightening but are not ready for surgery mentally, financially, or logistically.

Who is a good candidate?
  • Patients with mild to moderate skin laxity whose skin has relaxed enough to look or feel less firm.
  • Patients noticing sagging skin on the eyelids, neck, or under the chin.
  • Patients in their thirties and older, younger patients wanting to stay ahead of laxity, or patients trying to prolong cosmetic surgery results.
What areas does Ultherapy target?
  • Mild to moderate sagging skin on the face and neck.
  • Brow lifting that can reduce excess eyelid skin and create a refreshed appearance.
  • Sagging skin on the neck and under the chin, including the look of a double chin or loose neck skin.
Treatment and recovery
  • A typical in-office procedure takes about 60-90 minutes.
  • There is little to no downtime; most patients return to normal activity right away.
  • Temporary redness, heat, or prickling may occur and usually subsides quickly.
  • Yearly maintenance is often recommended, and touch-up treatment may be considered after 6-12 months when appropriate.
